I have a additional DC sitting in a remote location, I am able to connect to it fine. But it does not show up when I try to browse to it or any computers that it manages from the network neighbourhood in the PDC or any other computer in the network.
Please help!!!!

There is no firewall between them. Any other suggestions ?

Check on the remote server that file and print sharing is installed and NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled.

File sharing is turned on and so it NetBIOS over TCP/IP ...
Anything else ?
Thanks,
A

Can you ping the remote DC? Subnet masks the same? Have you tried adding the remote DC's info into your host or lmhost file (In windowsroot\system32\drivers\etc)?

I can ping and connect to it just fine. How do I add the remote DC info to the host file ? and where do I do so ?

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
There is a hosts.sam and lmhosts.sam in there
Open in notepad. It is explained right within the file how to add an entry.
The hosts file is equivalent to DNS and lmhosts is equivalent to WINS.

Yes, Checked that too, entries look fine. Still cant' see the DC show up in any computer (under network neighbourhood)

So, there is an entry in the lmhosts file that lists the remote DC name and it's corresponding IP Address?

Yes. There is and it is alike for a lot of other additional DC's I have on the network. So I dont think there is anything wrong there.

Now I can see it from the network neighbourhood from all the computers. I just browsed to it from the PDC and then hit refresh a couple of time in the network neighbourhood.

Thanks for all the help.
