I need to change domain name, ie @olddomain to @new domain. What is the best way to do it. Can I edit the mailboxes after doing the "how to on the microsoft website".

I am using Exchange 5.5 on an NT 4 Server using lease line.

Thanks....

Hi Mojak
From the Exchange Admin open up the Site Addressing properties (Configuration) Click on the Site Addressing tab and select SMTP and click edit. Change the address details to reflect your new domain and Ok the changes, click Ok on the properties. You will get a message telling you that a procedure has started to update all the addresses. This may take a little while, depends on the size of your server. This will not change any secondary SMTP addresses or alias names you have setup and will not change the IMC routing setup.

Chris.

Thanks Chris for your answer.
It is very helpful.
Our company is using Exchnage 5.5 on NT4, we are currently using @abc.com for our emails.
Management are thinking of changing the mail domain name to @xyz.com (where xyz is the holding company's name).
Can we have both @abc.com and @xyz.com on the same exchange server? Also what is the max number of mailbox we can have per server.
