Does WSUS require the user to be and amin

Hi I am tesing out WSUS and pushing patches to a laptop. I check the logs and it seems that nothing happens as a user with power user rights. When I log in (domain admin) the patches get installed and log file gets generated.

Q: Does the user need to be in the local admin group?

did you schedule a time for the updates to be installed.

no, but you do get that behavior if users don't have "full Control" permissions on the folder

c:\Program Files\Windows Update\V4\Temp

I would say check the options in your Group Policy. I am testing out WSUS and I have some computers that install updates even if a regular user is logged in.
