If you recall, we couldn't get into Apache. So we couldn't get our keycodes from there. We did follow some instructions that I found here to get the keycodes.kif file (I think it was called that) from the command prompt.
Having that file I told the tech's it was OK to wipe everything out and start over. They did that, we keyed the keycodes back in, but we have no voicemail keycode in that file.
I'm certain the switch had voice messaging. So, we may need to get new keycodes. I'm just trying to understand why the voice messaging keycode wouldn't be in the list when all of my other keycodes: IP phones, Upgrade 3.6 to 3.7, Fax, and IVR, were in that list.
It's just odd and I'm going to have to explain to people what happened.
That's part of my problem. Qwest is the Nortel dealer I'm working with. They run the number and either get nothing or just the upgrade keycode.
The weird thing about the KRS thing is that our ID brings up some other company's name that no one can identify.
Is it possible that I'm running on Pirated keycodes? Does that happen? I got this system when we purchased a company's assets. The original vendor hasn't worked on the system for 2 years, and they don't have any of the original keycode information. They swear that the system was purchased legitimately and system was registered.
That could definitely be "Pirated keycodes",that's why Nortel changed their licensing to now have a unique keycode.
By experience, KRS is rarely wrong when it comes to genuine licenses.
We have the same problem now. A customer bought a BCM 400 4.0 off EBay. It still has programming for over 80 people, but no keycodes. After putting allot of heads together, it was decided it was running on "Pirated Keycodes". They were erased before delivery. The system is registered to Nortel's KRS, but with no keycodes.
I've seen BCMs with pirated keycodes (in BCM, but no KRS entry), but it never effected any of my customers until now. Bad scene.
