Hi, One of our users is having a problem receiving her emails. It jsut started this morning. Her mailbox is ok since we are able to send and receive messages using web mail. Other users seem to be working just fine. This is what we get when we hit send/receive in OUtlook 2003:

Task 'mail.ourdomain.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: Not that truckers aren't cool. It's just that they're awfully loud. Thanks.'

where did the "truckers" error come from? I don't recall ever seeing and error with this message before.

ANy thoughts/suggestions/comments greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

So, what's wrong with the pop3 server? The error code means IXP_E_POP3_RESPONSE_ERROR or the pop server snd back something the client didn't like. I'd hazard a guess that "Not that truckers aren't cool. It's just that they're awfully loud. Thanks" isn't the response outlook wanted. The issue with the server not the client.

Outlook is very picky about messages. If there is no time stamp, sender, or other important data, it will sometimes generate a similar error. If there is a web interface for the POP3 server, login using that and see what's different about the problem message.

Hi, the problem is solved although we're still not sure why that 'trucker' error. We checked the mailbox using webmail and no unusual activity there. We noticed that receiving email was hanging on one email message so I went back to webmail and deleted that email message and all the emails started to arrive. The user said that before she called us, she was receiving multiple copies of the same email so she had to put it in her junkmail in outlook. It sounds like that one particular email got stuck somewhere between the outlook client and server... ???
