I doubt. I tried 9 (nine !) different PCMCIA network controllers 10/100 MBps. Two of them with own SCO drivers,
3 - with declared "support of SCO", rest - "NE2000 compatible".
Not at all !
All I get was "Adapter not found".

I wander if there is some "mkdev pcmcia" ?
To allow the access to pcmcia slot ?
Do somebody use PCMCIA cards in SCO notebook ?

SCO OpenServer 5.0.6, Release supplement, HP Omnibook XE3
F4643.
BTW Omnibook runs **super** under SCO. Except the embedded LAN controller VIA LCI Logic L80227. That's why I look for external PCMCIA.

I have never been able to get sco to work with a pcmcia adapter either (3.2.4.2 -> 3.2.5.0.5 then i gave up). 3com came the closest to working (but not reliably). 5.0.7 is supposed to have builtin pcmcia support as well as usb. The problem has never been a problem with the network driver or the cards themselves but with "card services" which is the shim that sits between the os and the pcmcia devices.

You confirm my doubts. Although it is so simple to provide
port on address 0x300 to answer either from ISA, PCI, EISA, PCMCIA, CardBus, and so any NE2000 compatible driver to serve as.
But NO - every OEM feel itself oblidged to make our life interesting.

I hope Xircom can help. Other variant - drivers from LynnSoft costs $249. And also no warranty it will work.

Hi.
I have used PCMCIA cards (modems and network) for notebooks for the last 4 years on SCO 5.0.x. It works if you use the LynnSoft PCMCIA driver and your cards are really aplying to the original PCMCIA cards standard. PC cards won't work!!
F.ex. the only netcard which works are 3com 3C589!
I think there is a new release for sco 5.0.6 at LynnSoft, yuo have to check it.

The "SCO Group" / Caldera has scheduled Openserver 5.0.7 to be released before the end of Januanry 2003. It will include support for PCMCIA cards. Therefore allowing additional support for laptops.
