I now have over two years experience of running Sage 300, 2012 PU4 in on an Amazon (AWS) virtual environment. One with a large national customer with a number of users spread across the country. We use two availability zones to provide redundancy, S3 backups, domain controllers etc. We have tied it to the ON PREMISE warehouse solution that uses scanning and communicates with the cloud servers over a VPN. We have EDI solutions connected to with automated printing of pick slips and invoices to each distribution centre.
So as Tuba2007 said in just one word, Yes! And it works well.
