I posted this on the Octel section but noticed the section is not a very active section

I have a DID that is playing a very old announcemnt. I went through all our announcements and can not find this annon. I did a list trace on the DID which is a xported station and has a CP to go to voice mail. on the trace it points to the one of the Octel vm extensions. each time and from there i can not see where the annon is. How can I find this announcement.

i have very little octel experience and so if there is something i can check please provide soem instructions.

one thing is it was playin a very old message and the second thing it was saying we are closed today.

thank you for your help

I dont have any Octel experiance so i was just throwing an idea out there.

The list trace menu should help you. After you login, type l t ... stands for list trace, select a menu item that applies.... date etc..

Thanks,

The octel stores messages in mailboxes that are tagged for special purposes and are called announcement mailboxes. The Mbxs are formatted so that they can't actually take a message, only play the recording, and that recording can be set with parameters specifying if the caller can skip the message etc. This allows the system to create the equivalant of vectors that can be set up for special purposes such as after hours closed notifications etc.

This is a function of the programming on the Octel. there is admin guides available on the secure Enterprise and BP portals, but not on the public sites. An Avaya Rep should be able to get you a copy.
