Does anyone know where to find a list of what daily and monthly checks should be done on an Option 81c. I know what I have been doing for the last 20 years but my present employer wants to see something more official than what I say should be done.

Thanks

William

THESE DAILY ROUTINES AS WE'VE CALLED THEM FOR 20 YRS
ARE SOMETIMES SYSTEM DEPENDANT AND I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH PAPER WORK YOU'LL FIND FROM A MANAFACTURER.

IN MY OPINION IT ALL STARTED AT NOTHERN IN LOS. AL
THE MANAGERS THERE GOT EVERYONE TO BY INTO THIS GREAT IDEA OF PREVENTIVE MAINT. OF THE APPLICATIONS TYPE. TESTING TRKS , T1'S. MAIL SYSTEMS, CPU'S, ALL OF THE APPLICATIONS, THAT IF DOWN WOULD CAUSE 20% OF THE SYSTEM TO BE AFFECTED.

I CANT KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING FROM, NT./

Acewarlock,

If available, check out document number 553-3001-500 which is the General Maintenance Information manual. In it, you might find what you need to compose the information you'll need for management.

Here is a list of the daily routines I do daily
Stat CPU's and CNI's
Stat in LD 137
Stat in LD 37
Stat XMI
DAT in LD 43
Stat AML in 48
Stat HSL in 48
Stat in LD 60
LCNT in LD 60
SSCK 0 and SSCK 1 in LD 60
Stat DCH
PLOG every D-Channel

Then periodically the trunks should be checked
LOVF
LDIC

We have 2 copies of the software that rotate to offsite storage every month.

Hi,

I am new to Meridians, and the list above was great. but do you know a quick way to determine what the power messages are in LD 37, i dont thingk the >! err xxxx command will work here?

What do you mean by power messages in LD 37? Can you state them? Normally it would only show you your TTY ports (state disl, enbl, enbl nrdy, etc.).

They hire us for the technicial knowledge but then want everything we say backed up in writing somewhere. If it was all written down somewhere then they wouldn't need us, just a clerk. I suppose we are heading there but until then...

If you stat the xsm, you should get a pwr000 back from each column. If you get anything else you've either got a real problem, or the xsm cards are not configured or wired correctly. The messages should look something like below; also the you can lookup the pwr messages online, they are there, as well as in the ntp's:
PWR000 01/07/03 10:13:57 56303 MSG
OPRDAT: XSMC 00 0 0

.

PWR000 01/07/03 10:13:57 56304 MSG
OPRDAT: XSMC 01 0 0

PWR000 01/07/03 10:13:59 56305 MSG
OPRDAT: XSMC 02 0 0

PWR000 01/07/03 10:13:59 56306 MSG
OPRDAT: XSMC 03 0 0

PWR000 01/07/03 10:13:59 56307 MSG
OPRDAT: XSMC 04 0 0

PWR000 01/07/03 10:13:59 56308 MSG
OPRDAT: XSMC 05 0 0

PWR000 01/07/03 10:13:59 56309 MSG
OPRDAT: XSMC 06 0 0

how to program the 7 digit DN on 81c so that the telephones on it need not to dial 0/9 to dial the telephones on the other 81c connected through the PRI TIE trunk.
Any help will be appriciated
