Does anyone know of a way to get an iPad able to run Manager?

Wouldn't it be great to be able to use an iPad to be able to make simple changes to an IPO?

I'm racking my brain to find a way to pull this off; maybe a Windows emulator to install and run Manager, and a series of adapters to get a LAN cable connection to an iPad...

Is this a pie-in-the-sky dream, or can we pull this off?

Ok, so her's what I've got so far:
Get Windows 7 on the iPad via this YouTube instruction:

Then connect an AirPort Express (

http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/)

to the LAN or WAN port on the IPO, then connect to the AirPort Express via wifi from the iPad. You will have already configured the AirPort Express to DHCP you with a 192.168.43.X IP address.

Any thoughts?

after you have done that, go Linux, LOL
Linux is easier because it is not that Apple proprietary crap, you install Wine and run it there, done.
If you only have Apple devices I can understand that you want to run Manager but why the ipad?
I am sorry but I am not hip enough to see the need for a tablet to do what Manager does with a real keyboard and mouse, but I am open for explanations to broaden my horizon.
However I am not buying that you can't carry a Laptop around and go to many places to service customers and need it all on an ipad to work so you don't get a hernia carrying a 4 pound laptop with a bag around (they come also as netbooks and are really easy to log around and work on)

I really have never understood that people think a tablet can take over a normal PC/Laptop.
I have a normal PC, a laptop for my work and a tablet.
To be honest, the tablet is only usable for watching Youtube.
The rest is always a compromise.
I really want to play with the Windows tablet (not the RT) when it comes out but i hold my horses until i am absolute sure it will work well.

I would use a tablet if possible, now I use it only for music, ebooks and incidentally for a video ( which looks a lot better on my 46" HD flatscreen ), yes porn... O, I can do Tek-Tips as well on it.

Intrigrant, if it would work well then i would do that too but it doesn't work that well.
I started an upgrade once on our server edition once from a tablet.
There is just a long way to go with both the tablet and the IPO (web interface)

I bought my grandson a netbook for christmas with win 8 and no touch screen. I have been setting up the normal stuff like anti virus and apps and games but win 8 is a different beast than any other windows app. I cant see business or even home users changing to active tiles and touchscreen for production work. Also they have changed the way it has worked since time began. Luckily you can click into a desktop and sorta navigate around like win 7. I must admit that I had to look up how to shut the computer down since the control is not obvious and buried in hidden menus.

What could I use win 8 for: surfing and consuming internet stuff. Don't think I could stand to use it to actually produce things in the Adobe suite or multitrack software or any other serious app. But the kid is eleven and only a consumer of internet stuff so this could be a good match. I suppose it would be great if it were touchscreen however those machines are way too expensive right now.

Westi have you actually tried to run manager under wine? the last time i tried it was a B***h to install & still did not work correctly, but that was some time ago

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

have not done it myself but a customer has it running, he is however a real Linux guy and uses Linux everywhere he can.
