Hello,
I am new to this website, and I have spent 2 full days on the internet trying to find out how to do this "type" of photoshopping. I am a full time photographer, and I am trying to capture a 50's type pin-up style look to my digital images, ie Canon 20D images. I have found some other people that do the same or similar type work, and I have no clue on how to even start this. I have supplied 2 links for photographers that do what I am trying to do. I don't want to copy them, I want to give my own flair to that style of imaging. I am just looking for the basic steps, so I can work from there. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me with this.

Thanks,
Bruce

It is the pinup style stuff.

...it also helps to have a wacom tablet too for retouching...

...make use of adjustment layers, and stack up your layers so as to be as non-destructive as possible and to allow for better flexibility...

...make good use of opacity, as a rule go a bit over the top and then bring the effect down with opacity and layer blend modes, sometimes it is better to do more than not enough...

...it is difficult to provide a one size fits all technique as images can vary greatly, but your friends in photoshop are layer masks, opacity, blend modes, selections, and adjustment layers esentially...

...great site covering 3D too, but does have some great tutorials for photoshop that will interest you, you do have t register to get at them though...

A big THANK YOU to Andrew for all of your help and guidance!! I thought that maybe I would get 1 offer for help, but HOLY BALLS!!!!!!!! Thanks for everything!! I am going to look at all of the links you have sent me, and go from there. I appreciate all of the time and effort you spent regarding this. As I figure stuff out, I will post my trials and efforts, and I look forward to hearing criticisms about it. Once again, thanks for the help!!!!

Happy Holidays!!

Bruce

Just a heads up:

Please mark links NSFW (Not Safe For Work) if they contain nudity. Some workers can get in serious trouble for opening a site that contains nude images.

Thanks!

Thank you for the heads up!! Again, I am new to this site and to messaging boards in general, and I didn't even think of that. I will mark the links like that for the future. Again, my apologizes to anyone, if that happened.
