I have 30 users with laptops. They hate outlookweb. They all have Outlook
loaded. Is there anyway to make outlook work over the web like it works on
our LAN? Any URL's would be greatly appreciated too!
No, I mean do you have Exchange with a NIC that has a real IP address? What about a firewall?
You would need your Exchange server to allow netbios and DNS calls into it and a lot of open ports. Then not only can all your laptops get straight in, you also would get a load of hackers.
"Big pipe". Because MAPI over the web is a hog.
To me, it sounds like you'd like to set up Outlook to "download" mail from an Exchange server, i.e POP3.
If so, this is very easy to implement.
Exchange Administrator ->
ORG -> SITE -> Configuration -> Servers -> ServerName -> Protocols -> POP3
If your server is behind a firewall, ensure that the IP address of the mail server has ports 110 and 25 open (sounds like 80 is allready open for OWA).
Of course, you know the story about the negatives of POP3?
Hope that helps

Although you can set up to receive mail into a local PST file rather than accessing it from the server, but this negates some of the advantages of having the server in the first place - centralized storage, management, and backup of messages.
