Does anyone have Teleworker on disc?? Mitel won't release my hardware

I'm out of software assurance with Mitel so even though I have bought 4.5 in the past they won't release my hardware ID on AMC :(

Does anyone have teleworker on disc?

So because you do not want to pay for an update yo uare going to ask it here ?
What do you think ?
You need to get another software assurance and then sync with the AMC to update it.

There no "CD" where you can upgrade it.

But I have paid for version 4.5, am I not entitled to re-install without having to constantly pay? I understand if it was an upgraded version but it's not!

There is an option to install blades from CD. Is this not possible?
 
You could install the blades to redo the teleworker server, but without AMC contact you will not be able to retrieve the licenses to get the teleworker working.
 
Sounds great LoopyLou. How would I go about doing that? The only thing I can see is the option to register for servicelink, which when I enter the apps record and hit enter I get 'invalid signature for account id for ********'

Then when I go to the server manager and select blade I get a message 'Warning: Access to blades is currently unavilable for unregistered servers.'

That sounds strange, you have payed for it so you should be able to have it.

That was my thought as well. Does anyone know how I can install? Not bothered if it show's as licensed on the AMC.

At the end of the MSL install it allows you to install blades from CD ( There is also a choice in the console menu I believe ). Anyway the blade software is available via download from Mitel On-line. However if this is a reinstall you are wasting your time becuase even if you install the MSL and the Teleworker blade, you would need to be able to retreive the teleworker set licenses from the AMC. If it is locking you out then you will not be able to retrieve the licenses without reactivating the Application record. I believe that will be the problem for you. If I am incorrect in my assumption then others will correct me.

I do agree with you in that once you bought the 4.5, you should still be able to run it even if software assurance has expired.

Not to worry. Our supplier has agreed to pay our software assurnace in exchange for a reference visit.... Bargain!

You only have to talk to some people who like to buy Mitel.

Did you put this on a new comuter (new NIC)? If so, that why the sync is failing. Get your vendor to reset the hardware ID. It can be done twice with a reasonable explanation.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!
 
Nope same PC, just a different hard drive (which I thought was strange too).
 
the hardware ID is no longer just on the NIC interface, it also incorporates data from the HDD and other parts of a computer.

All the above resulting in you been forced to stay in software assurance.

The same will be happening with the 3300 platform soon, if your software assurance expires and your controller fails you will not be able to re-synch with AMC - thus forcing everyone to have software assurance.

 
I think that is against the law!!!
You pay something and you should be allowed to replace a disk when it fails.
You have paid already for the software and you should be able to reinstall!!!

i dont know, all I know is as we were out of software assurance we couldnt synch with AMC and thus reload the server. I have had this twice in the last couple of months, 1 for an ops man server, then 1 for teleworker.
On both occasions I had no option but to renew my assurance.

After kicking up abit of a fuss I was advised this was unlikely to change and if anything the same is following for the 3300. It also looks as though if you are out of software assurance you wont be granted access to mitel support - this will be done on a per site basis.

Only relaying on what info I have found....
 
How about a raid 1 and one failing disk?
Can you replace the faulty disk by a new one ?

Would have thought so as the raid will rebuild locally without a re-sync. Only on full re-install is this needed.
 
You can reinstall it at the last release of MSL that was on the server, however you will need your dealer to clear your hardware ID. If you were at MSL 8.o prior you must be within that msl load to reinstall. If you do not have a service contract with your svc provider there may be a charge to clear the app record
