Does anybody know where I can get a copy of Oracle 8.1.6.2 for Windows

I seem to be having a problem finding it on Oracle.com.

It probably will not be on any Oracle site since it is an ancient ( by Oracle standards) release - 8.1.7 is on technet at

http://otn.oracle.com

Perhaps someone in the forum will send you a CD with it since they are undoubtedly no longer using it..

Yeah, only thing is my company is still living in the stone age. We are still running 8.1.6 and I need the patch to get my application to work. I would imagine that Oracle would at least have it located somewhere in their Archive. Would there be any website besides Oracle that might possibly have it?

It cannot possibly be legal for any but oracle to have it posted. While 8.16 may be ancient, copyright lasts 95 years. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Actually I was hoping there was a site out there that acts similiar to Downloads.com and will actually link me to where Oracle has the level 2 patch for net8.1.6 for windows. I have a licensed copy of net8.1.6 for windows, I just need the patch.

I just don't want to go thru the pain of having to contact my oracle representative to get this patch and have them try to sell me newer versions. I guess I have to do that now.

If you have a metalink account the patch sets for 8.1.6 are there for most operating systems..

Metalink, that is what I wanted to know. I was looking all over Oracle for that link, but I couldn't remember what it was called. Oracle is terrible, I did searches for 8.1.6.2 and came up with nothing. Thanks Turk for the info.

Info on Oracle's sites for older products is lacking and Metalink is the only real option for those...
