I have a 3300 cx controller and from what it seems, the controller would not support a Quad CIM which means i cannot connect an ASU 2 to any cx or cxi controller as it would seem the mmc slots only support quad bri and e1 t1 cards. Is this correct ?

What release...

Quad CIMs are supported on the 3300 (you are limited to 3 of 4 ports, left to right).

ASU II (2) is supported on the CX/CXi controller as well.

Please check your software revisions and upgrade if required.

The CX & CXi do not have any "cim" ports and cannot have asu's connected to them, you can however add an analogue expansion board.

12345kevin: I take it you are not certified?? Please do not post items to this board if you do not know what you are talking about. Sales people use this board as well for support during the sales cycle, and they need answers quickly and honestly. An error like yours could cost a VAR or customer money, simply for the sake of you posting...

Please review the manual.

From the manual:
=================
Table 3: Maximum CX/CXi configuration (continued)
CIM ports 3 One Quad CIM card can be installed, but only the first 3 ports will be functional.

MitelGuy : Yes I am certified for longer than I care to remember, if i've made a mistake then I bow to your better judgement ! However I am currently looking at both a CX And CXi and there is physically nowhere for a CIM port to go ! And the manual reflects this within the "hardware" section. The bit you have read appears to be a "typo". Maybe the UK versions are different ! I doubt it though !

12345Kevin, From the technical update course for 7.1:

"You can install up to two Quad CIM's in any 3300 ICP Controller, with the exception of the AX controller which only supports one quad CIM.

On CX and CXi Controllers, only the first 3 prots on each Quad CIM are functional -- the fourth port is not supported"

MitelDude, it would appear you are good to go (as long as your software is 7.1 or better.

You place a CIM card in your MMZ slot.

All controllers are made in China for every market. The same controller is sold globally.
