Does anybody know if you can copy files directly into the document library for individual sites within sharepoint?

Hello,

You can use webfolders and add a network place that points to a Document library in SharePoint.

I usually chose map network drive, chose sign up for online storage or connect to a network server.
From there you can type in the address to the document library on a sharepoint site and then you can copy files straight in to the document library.

Or in IE click on File\Open... check open as Webfolder and enter the url to your site. now you can just use it as it was a folder.
