I've got the DoCmd.Hourglass true call in a onClick event, however the code immediately goes through lots of code and immediately after the code, the hourglass false is called.

The hourglass doesn't appear in this situation, so I'm thinking that because code is immediately executed after hourglass, it's disrupting the mouse change...

is there any way to fix this?

Thanks

Funny. I use the Hourglass often and it never mattered "where" the code was. In fact, what *would* come after the Hourglass command but more code?

Anyway, some things to consider:
1. Is all your code being executed? Depending on your logic it could be jumping over huge amounts of code and your Hourglass changes too fast to see.
2. Does your code even run up to your Hourglass command? Is it possible that some code before the Hourglass command causes execution to go around it?

will look into the doEvents function

the code does run, cos access "freezes" for like 5 mins, it's a lot of processing, hence the need for hourglass, and the hourglass code runs as well...

nope, the doevents function doesn't make it change either...

if I step through the code in debug then it works fine, but running normally, the mouse just refuses to change...
