Do you need to have pwr supply for 1140 expansion module to light? 1

My question is do you need to have the power supply connected to the 1140E to make back light work on the Expansion Module? I thought POE was enough to power the expansion modules.
Besides that I can't make the programming come up on the Expansion Modules.
It keeps showing the model number and version.

Changed CLS: to KEM3 still no go.

- Software rls 4.50
- Penitum II
- CS1000M
 
You need to have an external power supply on the IP Phone 1120E/1140E/1150E for the backlight on the Expansion Module to work.
 
Ok Thanks. I am still having a problem though in trying to get the programming to show up on the expansion module keys, it just keeps showing the firmware version of the expansion module.
 
Make sure that you have the latest firmware loaded on the 11xx.
 
Put parameter KEM 1 if you have 1 KEM attached
Put parameter KEM 2 if you have 2 KEM attached

And with CLS KEM3 it should work.

 
Can you have the external power supply and Power Over Ethernet connected to the 1140E phone with KEM at the same time? I Would like to have a back up option in case building power dies. I don't want to fry the phone though.
