Does anyone know if links in iframes are followed by any of the Search Engines?

Steve

Hi mate,

I am not sure about the major engines but the engine that I am running will extract the page that is in the iframe and then it will index that page.. It does not however see the links that are in the iframe until it goes to the actual page and indexes that.

To get around this, why not put a noframes tag with the content in that? This way any engine or visitor without frames enabled will still see the content.

Hope this helps Wullie

Apparently,

If your site is in frames, it is bad news. You're are supposed to have a non-frames portal page with all your keywords, etc on that first page to get noticed properly.
