Hi,
I have a small network of three computers at my house. I move files between the computers, so I gave each computer a static local (192) IP address to make things easier. My Linksys router is given a dynamic IP address by my ISP (Comcast).
However, Windows made me hard code the DNS server addresses when I set the addresses of my computers as static. I don't know how to just configure the local addresses without making the DNS addresses static, too.
So, (1) will this cause DNS-lookup issues, namely, will the DNS IP addresses change; and (2) is there any way for me to make the local address static, but keep the DNS-server address dynamic?
Thanks,
Richard
