We have a very simple network (single subnet).

Internet <=> PIX <=> HP 4100gl <=> LAN

I now want to add a second IP subnet into the network. Can I do that without adding router??

You cAn create a second vlan but you won't be able to talk between the vlans without a layer 3 device (router) of some type .

I was just looking around in the configuration Menu. What is the purpose of "Enable Routing"?? And what is the use of VLAN multinetting?? Sorry for all the questions....I am just a bit confused...

It appears that this model will support basic ip routing so you should be able to set up the 4100 to route between the 2 .
