I have noticed our priv1.stm file growing lately, more than priv1.edb

I understand that priv1.stm is for mapi, and we have setup several droid phones for exchange email lately, and was wondering if they were the culprit?

The stm file includes messages and attachements in MIME format. The edb file contains items in mapi format. Content conversin takes place in the working directory location or the temp folder loaction depending on direction. A subset of MIME properties are "promoted" and stored in both places depending on the client/message format.

That said, android should be using active sync. It is possible to configure one for pop3/imap however, so this is something you should consider looking into.
