Do Avaya Workplace supports automatic answer like Avaya Communicator?

No.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Okay, I was being a bit cruel. It can be done with the latest client, but it needs a particular string to be present in the 46xxsetting.txt file to allow the user to switch it on/off and sadly that's not in the current auto-generated settings file and you can't use the specials file with Workplace on IP Office - all things that were on the R11.2 list up until Avaya did its recent planning reset for all products.

If I understand correctly, its supported by the 3.30 Windows client and needs the string AUTO_ANSWER in the settings file. So its a client thing only, not related to any auto-answer settings in the IP Office (for example, I would assume that when a user has it switched on, that doesn't mean the IP Office will treat the client as something it can page).

Excellent thinking, real reverse engineering. :)

Tested it this morning. Created a workplace.txt file and put it on an IP500 V2 system. Contents were:

[pre] SET AUTO_ANSWER 1
GET 46xxsettings.txt[/pre]

Then installed a Workplace 3.30 client on Windows and during initial registration told it to get . Saw the request for that file in monitor, and then the request for the settings file which the IP Office auto-generated.

Which is all waffle - basically my Workplace client now shows an Auto Answer on/off control just below the Incoming Call Features menu.

... though I recommend finding and reading on the AUTO_ANSWER setting, as a few quick test show me the client is now happily auto-answering everything regardless of whether the slider control is set to on or off in the client (or new feature, new bug, its not just the IP Office team that can do that).
