Hello,

When I prepared for our installation of IP-Office I connected the 9608 into a PoE-swtich and a computer into the 9608 since I didn't have any free network socket.
But now when the old PBX I now have one socket to the phone and one socket to the computer.

Now I´m experience problems with some compters, suddenly they receive the DNS-server address "192.168.0.1" and that's not our correct DNS-server.
Can it be that the 9608 is trying to act DNS-server?

Maybe a long shot but the problem started simultaneously when the new IP-phones came into our network.

It gets that info from your DHCP server, the phone isn't a DHCP server and simply passes data through to the second network port. I would hazard a guess you did something else in preparation for the IP Phone like creat another DHCP scope or turned/left the systems DHCP server on or the phones are patched into a different switch/network than the other PCs, there can be many reasons :)

Maybe should perform a reset of the phone?
Have like 100 phones and there is one maybe two with this problem.

Tjena Per!

Your phones are the issue here, but you might have a config issue on the PBX.
Was the intention to have separate phones/data network? If you did some patching, you could accidentally have merged them together.

As Amriddle says, sounds like you are running two DCHP on the same scope.

Some set up IPO to handle the DHCP for the phones, example .0.1-100 for computers and 1.01-200 for phones.
That can create crazy faults in the network (cleaned up a site like this in October).

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hej!

The intention is too have separate phone/data network, but since every desk normally have two network sockets and one is for data and the other was used to the old PBX I had to plug both the phone and computer to the same socket (the other solution had been to unplug 100 phones and make sure the socket was patched to a PoE swich and then plug in the new phone all at the same time...not so easy)

The DHCP in the IPO is disabled and has always been, we have two dns-servers but settings are the same, i double checked.

When the problem occur to the computer it always helps with performing a ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew

Per, you will be better off plugging the phones in a separate network.
The "switch" in the phones are not that good, and they are only 10/100, and they don't even give you that.
Patching those unused sockets should not be the worst job in the world, and you will benefit from it in the future.

As I can recall, you also have a IP DECT system connected, could be something there making this happen.

Kind regards

Gunnar
