Dear all
I had found this event from my event log:

The DNS server for this DC does not support dynamic DNS. Add the DNS records from the file '%SystemRoot%\System32\Config\netlogon.dns' to the DNS server serving the domain referenced in that file.

What does it mean and how i can solve it?

Thx alot

jack

Dear Wilson
Could you please tell me where i can check if my DNS server is uing the dymaic updates?

Thx alot

Jack

go into the DNS console, right click on each zone (your domain in the forward lookup zones and your subnet in the reverse lookup zones...these are your forward and reverse lookup zones

right click on the zones and select the allow dynamic updates to yes, dont use always secure unless you only have win2k and up clients

Actually, you can use secure. win2k clients and up support secure dynamic updates. Others can use DHCP to update DNS for those that don't support dynamic updates. Adding the DHCP server to the DNSUpdateProxy security group will allow it to do secure updates for your NT and 9x clients.
