I am able to surf the web from my client computers through my OpenbSD FW gateway, however I must call out my ISP's DNS servers in my dhcpd.conf file. Is this normal, should they have to be there? Listing them in resolv.conf is of no help. Thanks in advance for your help.

Unless you're running a name server internally on your network or on your FW, your internal clients will have to use your ISPs name servers.

You may not want to run a nameserver on a dedicated firewall, but setting up an OBSD caching-only server internally would be no big trick.

IS the gateway the DHCP server, also?

jbud, in response to your question, yes my FW is also my dhcp server. Eventually what i want to do is put squid on it and use it as a local internet cache.
