My problem is the following...

2 domains on my network that they are trusted between each other

1 dhcp server
2 dns servers

how do i setup the dhcp or dns for the dhcp clients to have both dns servers disponible, so if i want to join that client pc to one or the other i can do it.

Now i can not do it because the dhcp only gives 1 dns server to the clients.
I was thinking on intalling a secondary dns on one of the domains, but i don't sure...can anyone help me? please

I'm not sure I understand the question.

You have 2 domains on your network in the same tree I presume.

-1 is a DHCP server

-Each DC is also a DNS server.

You can indeed assign 2 DNS servers for DHCP lease, so each client gets 2 DNS servers.

Installing a Secondary DNS server wouldnt help you since you already have 2 DNS servers?

oh sorry!

I have two domains pri2004 and sec2004 in a separate forest but they trust each other.

i assigned 2 dns server to the dhcp lease but when i try to log on on the xp clients as sec2004 is doesn't load the user , but if i put the dns manually in the client it loads perfectly.

dhcp lease

1 dns pri2004
2 dns sec2004

Still trying to understand exactly what you're trying to do.

From your post, it looks as if you are saying that your DHCP server is serving the clients with only one DNS server. When you really specified two. Is that correct?

If the two domains are in seperate forests you will have to make sure that DNS is configured to forward requests to the other DNS infrastructure.

You can not just point clients two seperate DNS infrastructures. This is because once the client finds a working responsive DNS server (in the list of TCP/IP DNS servers), it will continue to use just that one. It doesn't query the next IP in the list.

So... Lets says, you have domain1.com and domain2.com DNS infrastructures. By default, the DNS server for domain1.com is authoritative (or responsible) for resolving queries for any records in domain1.com. If a query came to domain1.com DNS server for a record in domain2.com (host.domain2.com), the Domain1.com DNS server would either respond negatively or want to forward the request to another DNs server.

Therefore, you have to setup your DNS infrastructure so that there is a hierarchy.

Also, you would want to add the DNS suffixes for both domain to every client machine.

Client:
DNS Suffix 1: domain1.com
DNS Suffix 2: domain2.com

if there is trust between the two domain forests, just add secondary zones to each of their forward lookup zones.
