Hi,

I installed Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and created a new domain in new forest and configured DNS in same server. Everything went smooth but when I try to add another R2 Server to domain it fails.

For some reason when I ping domain.local from second server it resolves to IPV6 address of that DC. Same happens if I ping domain.local from DC that haves the DNS.

I think this is the cause for my domain joining problems. How to resolve this issua?

Does the second server have the IP address of the first server in the "DNS Servers" portion of the IP configuration? In order to join the domain you have to be able to locate a DC for that domain, and that means that you need to use a DNS server that knows about the domain.

Second server has only one DNS-server and it is this first server (DC01). DC01 is this domains only domain controller and DNS is Active Directory integrated on it.

Why this domain.local resolves to ipv6 address of this particular domain when trying to ping from local dc that holds this domain or from this other server?

If i ping this domain from local DC it answers from ipv6 address. OK no problem. When done from other server it resolves to same ipv6 address as it should but this dc doesn't reply to ping. Windows firewall is disabled.

Continues..

If I ping ipv4 address then everyting is ok and DC is answering to it.

How I can change this DNS server not to return ipv6 address when querying this domain?

I deleted all AAAA Records from DNS server and now domain.local resolves to right ipv4 address and everyting is working.

That DC has Microsoft 6to4 adapter with ipv6 address. This address was in dns AAAA records and everyting tried to resolve this ipv6 address.

Should i remove this adapter?

I generally leave IPv6 running (at least in my lab) since we'll eventually need to get used to it. I'm intrigued by the presence of an adapter called "6to4." Did you install anything IPv6 related? I don't recall ever seeing an adapter in a fresh install.
