I have 2k3 sbs. Someone recently thought it would be a good idea to set up a vpn dial-up to another network from my server.

Trouble is - my server is called 'SERVER' and the remote vpn server is also called 'SERVER' (two different domains however).

They got the usual warning about 2 computers with the same name - but ignored it.

Now - whenever I need to connect to my server (locally) - it asks me to dial the vpn connection to find it! This is causing delays on my server as it is trying to find itself on another vpn connection.

I have tried flushing the dns cache - but I am still having the same 'pop-up' - requesting that I connect to the vpn connection.

If I do connect the vpn - then my server responds instantly.

Where am I going wrong?

Fixed it :D.

Exchange 2K3 (SP2) and IE7 do not mix. Thanks Micro$oft - NOT!
