hello,

i made a migration from server NT4 to win2K.
Everything was find.
But in the dns , it didn't create anything (like _msdcs, _sites, _tcp, _udp)so no SRV records registered.
I have only one dc i my domain.
So now i a lot of probleme to joining a new dc or with active directory.
With only one dc in the my domain, i would like to know if it's possible to uninstall dns et reinstall it.

Thank you

DNS & Active Directory go hand - n - hand. You need DNS installed, for clients to recognize what services are being offered, let alone to contact the domain controller. Since your clients probably aren't getting to the network, reload DNS Active Directory Integrated.

Since it's not working, you don't have a lot to lose. Just uninstall dns and re-install it. Perseusmi is correct. Without dns working, ad will never work. Glen A. Johnson
