Help...!

I have been having trouble for over 3 days. A critical computer dropped out of the domain and I cannot get it to rejoin. All errors point to some sort of DNS problem. I have even removed and installed a brand new hard drive, operating system and IP address. Nothing works.

1. I tried a nslookup and I get a message that the server for address 192.168.X.X cannot be found.

2. I have tried ipconfig/ registerdns.

3. I have tried to flushdns

The odd thing is that I can ping every machine by IP address but nothing else. I have tried a static as well as DHCP and the configurations bind but still no luck. Any ideas at all? I need help.

Thank you...

i take it your DNS settings on the computer are correct? Do you see any errors on your DNS or AD Server when you try to do a name lookup from that machine?

I just did a nslookup on the DNS / AD server and everything looks good.

I'm going to check a few things and post back with the results.
