Gurus.

my quesion is more like to understand.

I have a router that broadcast the DHCP, within this DHCP there are the DNS entry, my question is if I type and is not found on the primary DNS entry does the same request goes to the second DNS where that entry might be.

If not, is there a way to make it work like this as a DNS failover.

Thanks gurus

Usually not. The reason is that both of the servers should have the same information. If they have different information contained in the zone data, then it is a misconfigured set of servers.

If there is a timeout querying the first name server, then yes a resolver should query the second. But in your case where an answer isn't found (NXDOMAIN), that get's cached (ncache).
