Hey all... I'm having some issues with the DNS portion of my server. I'm checking the logs, and I keep getting:
The DNS server was unable to complete directory service enumeration of zone Marlton.local. This DNS server is configured to use information obtained from Active Directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly and repeat enumeration of the zone. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error.
I also get it for: _msdcs.Marlton.local. , and .
Then, I get:
The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error.
So there's three 4004 errors, and 4015 error. There's also remnants of a 6702 error in there as well, something about DS-Integrated peers.
Anyways, the long and the short of it is that there are 2 'A' records for my server in the DNS config. At one point the server was configured with 2 ips by another admin for Load Balancing/Fault Tolerance. I since broke that NIC team down and disabled it, thus effectively removing the IP address and bringing it back to 1 IP with 2 NICs for Fault Tolerance...
My main question is, can I delete the 'A' record of the IP that I removed? Will that cause more problems that anyone can see, or will it fix my errors that I described above?
Thanks for your time, and I look forward to any insight anyone can offer!
