Hi, I'm trying to change my DNS cache because one client has some problems with an IP that is wrong at Spain.

Where can I find it?¿

Thanks a lot Carpe Diem.

You should be able to do an ipconfig /flushdns to clear the cache.

Thanks Gbaker, but what I need to do is to change a A record of the cache so I can use another IP for the client.

See, there's a mixtup on the dns servers arround the world, some have the right IP others no, and the ISP hasn't fix it yet so I gotta change the IP manually.

Where should I look?¿

In the NT 4.0 you had a windows with the cache, but iun W2000 I cannot find it

Thanks in advance Carpe Diem.

The cache is saved in RAM, you can't edit it. Why can't you temporarily use a HOST file to designate the proper mapping to the client? This is what most people would do.

In the DNS snap-in, enable Advanced View (View -> make sure Advanced is checked). Then you should see a Cached Lookups folder. There's an option to clear cache if you right-click it.

ipconfig /flushdns will clear out the client cache. Marc Creviere

Marc, I think he was trying to change an entry in the cache, rather than flush it. When you view the cache as you described, the entries are all 'read-only.'
