I have a scenario where a hotel needs to turn DND on and off for the room phones.

All room phones are analogue

They have soft console but because the room phones are ext-directory you do not get the option to see the Directory entry properties.

Is there a way of doing this through Soft Console for an Ex-Directory phone or any other way ?

They want reception to be able to do it.

On CM you can do it remotely if you have console permissions. is there anything like this on the IPO ?

not 100% sure but I was told the operator still should be able to see them even if they are excluded from the directory, and if she can then yes she can activate or deactivate this feature for any room

I have tested on our in house and when I make an ext ex-directory it is not visible in the directory in soft console.

Then I would tell them that they need to be added back to directory then if they want to be able to do this.

try this, add all room phones to a blf group then you will now be able to do this

I tried that, From the BLF group I cannot get at the properties to set DND.

I am still trying to find a way to do this.

Another possibility would be to disable the directory button on select 9608 phones.

Does anyone know if this is possible ?

The scenario is, This is a top London Hotel, The front of house system propagates the ext with the guest name.

Because the guest name shows there are certain phones that they do not want to show in the directory ie: if Tom Cruise is staying they don't want someone in the conf room to be able to find his number and call him.

because of this all room phones are ex directory.

The receptionist has got soft console and can use this to set DND for any phone that she can see, not any phone that is ex directory.

I need a way of being able to set DND the room phones from reception

They do not have VM Pro , they use Tiger.

They do not want to give her manager unfortunately but I'm on the verge of insisting.

No they don't have VM Pro. they use Tiger TMS VM
