Is there a way to make a set that has Do Not Disturb set to go to voicemail instead of ring back to the receptionist?

DND is a pain in the neck if you ask me : )

The receptionist will need to Ftr 986 ( Transfer to Mailbox )

It's only dialtone-VZ

That's what I thought but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. I wish some people would just forward to vm instead of dnd.

I label all my sets with a "DND" button but in fact i always program "feature 984" on it.

Or ~ you can have a button on the set(s), so when the customer leaves, they can turn on:

FEATURE 9 8 4 (Forward to VMAIL).

This will forward all calls coming in to be directed to the individuals personal Voicemail.

I believe that F984 is better than DND... anyday!

oops - for some reason I never saw gberger's response, till after I sent in my answer! =)

I'm looking to do the same thing as tjcbs, but I'm not fully understanding the awnser. Is foward to vm the only way to do this, or can DND also foward to VM. I have a 200 that does foward to Voice Mail when DND is enabled on a set, and then I have a 50 that goes to the receptionist. I didn't configure the 200, and I'm not sure how this was done with DND.

Thank

Actually coaxnps,

There is programming to tell the incoming call where to go.

DND stops the phone from ringing at the set, and the programming will direct the caller to the specific location to transfer the call to.

But Under the programming:
-> TERMINALS&SETS
-> CAPABLILTIES
-> there are options for: Fwd no answer/ Fwd on busy which redirect the caller to the appropriate place.

Sorry YnotPhone, I'm still a little lost. I took a look at the 200 and the 50 and both have Fwd no answer/ going to voice mail both nothing on Fwd on busy.

Thanks

What confuses me is if Fwd no answer is set to go to voice mail, why does DND still end up at the receptionist desk?

coax

im not in front of a bcm 50 right now but i will be tomorrow and can tell you where i changed it. I set the label for call forward to vm to "no calls" and told the users it was DND. so when they press "no calls" it actually is the feature forward all to vm.

The setting in Call Forward Busy is where calls end up when in DND mode because DND mode means your busy.

If nothing is programmed in CFB then it will bounce to the Prime Set.

Check your prime set for the lines.....there is the odd system out there that has it set to voice mails DN as a way of trickery to allow another feature.

Otherwise use F984 as a DND as mentioned.

Hey coax,

Are you sure the Fwd on Busy and Fwd No Answer goes to the voicemail port?

FEATURE 9 8 5 ~ will tell you the voicemail DN.

Ensure that the DND on busy is enabled to YES.

Thanks guys, I think I got it fixed buy checking DND on Busy.

Thanks again
