Hi - are you using license manager V5? I know this error from earlier versions but V5 is OK - best parnum

hi parnum,

That is correct I use the old version but this error coming only with 2000/2003 server,

Any way do you have any solution? I don’t have the latest version

Bet regards

I would suggest skipping 5.1 and upgrading to the latest version 5.3 this uses ericsson license manager only down side is that you need to get the licenses direct from ericsson however 5.3 is now the only version that they will support

hi abuokarem

try using license manager v/3 first. this throws up the error. then try license manager v5. Then use V3 again. might sound strange but I got it to work this way! this is what i have found. As Affy says you can go to DNA 5.2/5.3 with ELM if you get nowhere, as that is officially only supported version (5.3), but in reality we know people still use older versions and may not be at BC level for the later DNA to work...

best parnum.

Hi Parnum/Affy1977,

Pleas advice how I can get the other version

Witch version (BC release) you have

It is important because DNA version X no supported all old BC

Hi abuokarem

the licensing application pre DNA5.2 is released to Service Partners only to prevent unauthorised use, it would allow a site to make up their own licenses. If you are not a SP you need to speak to your SP to resolve this, or if you are one, speak to E///. You will have problems if you upgrade to above 5.1 in the future and the licenses on your server are greater than what you have paid for, so if you have 2000 entries in DMG but you have only paid for 1000 licenses, EMG will not take any updates until you delete 1000 entries. If anyone is going to give the license application away so be it but sorry I am not in a position to do that,

It is not important what you are paid for your DNA-Application (pre DNA5.2). The only way to know exactly what will work after upgrade in DNA5.2 or DNA5.3 is to have a look in Ericssons Licenseshop before you order an upgrade. And often you will be surprised, if Ericssons database shows completely other contents then expected... And then the trouble begins to start...

Hi

I would say it very much is important if you have a telecoms manager who adds licenses on via license manager then maybe leaves the company, the company does not realise what has happened and when they have their upgrade to 5.2/5.3 and you go to Ericsson with the fingerprint and the maintainer is told they must go back to the customer and get more money, this can cause many problems. It happens, and as you say the trouble begins to start... the maintainer looks bad in the eyes of the customer and many disagreements on who is to pay for the extra licenses...

One reason for the trouble is the fact, that IPAs was introduced not with BC10 - many peoples believe this. Already DNA3.0 had a IPA-number. But nobody knew it. If a customer had BC9 and DNA3.0 and did order an upgrade to BC10 or 11 with pre DNA5.2-version, then often IPA-number was set to "new" in Pocket. So Ericsson created a new IPA. All did seem perfect. DNA5.1 was technically not licensed. Until DNA5.2 was introduced... Suddenly the upgrades did not work. Ericsson was correct to say: Hey, we see no basic-licenses. so your upgrade will not work. Nobody did understand it. And the so important DNA3.0 basic-licsenses sleeps until today - with other IPAs...
