I manage a Meridian PBX at a Corrections Facilities, a Meridian with option 11C. We have a trunk line set up to feed tip and ring to a Valcom paging system. Is there a way to set up certain Dn's within the system to be able to do emergency break in to paging in case of an emergency. We currently use a two digit paging access code (i.e. 60 thru 69) 60 is our all call with 61 thru 69 giving us our zone coverage thru out our facilities.

You can try programming POA in the cls prompt, How are the sets programmed now?

the way i had to do that before was to add a relay.. user could dial a code and kill the active page.. then access the overhead.. may be to slow for you... look at the valcom or there website... some of the valcoms allow all page to overide zone page.. so if you put all speakers in zone 0ne.. give that out an general page.. then the all zone code will override the zone.. we did a lot of that in vegas... 20 zones in the casino, we have a winner is slots might be 100 speakers but fire page had to override all zones with no delay... instead of trying to build a work around in the nortel, we used the valcom experience..

another fact that some of us overlook, an att console can use barge to override page or a busy station or trunk..

i do not add pag trunks, i use cot or wat to page from, that allows me to use the timed forced disconnect, so i limit all pages to 2 minutes.. tfd 120... that keeps those valcom;s from locking up, once a week, usually after hours.. prior to my tour on this site, someone had to drive in and power cycle the page adapters... tfd can be up to 10 minutes? or longer.. which is to long for a page..

at a DOC, i might add a second page system.. that gets real serious real fast
