Last week, Lexmark was suing a competitor via the DMCA over toner cartrige chips:
Now, there's this article from ExtremeTech about one company suing another via the DMCA over a competitor's garage door opener:
Here's an EFF commentary:
Is there no end to the stupidity of this law?

At last, though, some U.S. congresscritters are starting to come to their collective senses: Want the best answers? Ask the best questions: TANSTAAFL!

Actually the DCMA is more of a:
Stop people that may one day drink and drive and get into a deadly car accident by banning the sale of cars, the teaching of driving skills, and the publication of any technologies that would allow someone to build a car at home.
So what if 98% of the uses are legitimate and legal, those 2% are so bad that people won't mind giving up the other 98%. Really.

Makes you wonder which company hired the computer specialist(s) that advised during that one. If there was even one involved.

This article contains a reference to yet another misuse of the [red]D[/red]umbest [red]M[/red]alformed [red]C[/red]ensorship [red]A[/red]ct.

Those of you who are Americans, please contact your congressional delegation and tell them you want this thing fixed.

Well, unfortunatly I don't have the equivalence of the wealth of a small coutry in my back pocket, and since the number of people that actually even havlfway understand the DCMA enough to disagree with it is such a small number in relation to the number of ignorant people and dollar bills that are directly supporting it, unfortunatly my voice would go hoarse without anyone ever noticing.

Of course I also live in a state that spent 6 to 8 figures putting up a few bear crossing signs in the mountains, so I guess this probably isn't to surprising.
