A customer had a 7420 phone that died and we ordered the new 7440 as a replacement. It did not plug into the original charger so we ordered a charger for the 7440. No power supply plugs into the back of it there is only an RJ plug. Could someone please tell me how I am going to power this thing?

Thanks

Order the new Power Supply that goes with it. Its an RJ11 plug that goes back to a regular electric cord.

I wonder why Nortel did not include the power cord and why they changed at all?

Why are they selling BCM 50 and 400 without power cords? It just makes no sense.

the 3.0 bcm 50's have been comming with the cords lately I have put in 3 this month and they all came with the cords in the box.

I think their origional plan was to sell more of the power supply enclosures. that cabinet that combines 3 power supplies in 1 cabinet and looks just like the bcm 50 main or expansion but only uses 1 power cord.

Umm OK. I have never even seen or heard of it. I guess your dealer is better than mine because I didn't know any of that and I still forget to order my power cords and get to the job and realize I need one!!!! Grrrr...Frustrating

that may be one of the perks of getting our parts straight from nortel I don't know but that's what I have seem lately.

next time you order them get some extra ones to keep with you

We go through a Nortel dealer because they are closer and we can get parts delivered overnight at no charge or pick them up.

I just feel bad for the hard working techs and small companies that cant afford to spend $30k to get certified on all their equipment so they are at the mercy of a vendor.

I feel your pain. My first frustration was when they started shipping modules without power cords. Then keycodes became a hassle when they went web based. It makes me wonder what's next.
