DMA in windows 2000 pro 1

Where is dma on and off in windows 2000 pro?

LSTAN! Good info and the bad news is I do not have that
advance tab in the properties of the ide atapi secondary or
primary and I do have w2k pro..dont know what to say. I have
reloaded this once and have sp4 update so I have no idea.
I dont have dma. I guess. no wonder I couldn't find it. Might
be that I had to load it up when I reloaded win2k pro.

Check your BIOS and ensure that the drive is in UDMA mode, not PIOx.
You may also want to look around for updated drivers for your chipset controller/motherboard.
Sometimes Windows will use a generic driver for the controller that doesn't support all options.
 
thanks jasen...will do. I did check the site lstan pointed to
and properties in atapi secondary or primary does not have
a tab for advanced features where I can turn it on or off.
I dont know what to say now.
