Hello,

I am currently using Arcserve 7.0 for Netware with a DLT IV machine. Someone gave me their old DLT IV tapes because they upgraded to Ultrium tapes. However, when I try to load the tapes to erase them, my entire system hangs and forces me to manually reboot Netware. Is there a way to erase/format these tapes so I can use them with my copy of Arcserve? I believe the tapes were used with Veritas therefore making it unreadable with Arcserve. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

In my experience i dont use tapes from one device in another because each tape device may tension the tapes slightly differently. If they are from another Backup software it can cause the issue. The only way i got around this was to buy new tapes.
