dlookup data in form not saved in table

In a form POMR2, in the field Diagnosis #1 I use the dlookup function to recall information from a table called Patients. The function works properly, but the lookup data is not saved to the the related table POMR.

In the controlsource property I use this function
=DLookUp("[diagnosis #1]","patients","[patient name]= form!patientname&quot

All the data except for the dlookup data is automatically saved to the POMR table, but the dlookup data is saved as 0.

Any Help would be appreciated

try setting your control source back to the field that you want to store the data and set the controls default value to
your dlookup.

why do you need to store data that is stored in another table anyway ?
