Hello, I using CR 8.5 with Windows XP, IE 6 connecting OLEDB to an SQL Server. I was receiving Database Errors and SQL Server errors when trying to run a report with a Stored procedure. I downloaded the Service Pack 1, the monthly Hot Fix, and the Database Exporting Hot fix from Crystal's Web site. I believe that I installed them properly also. (But maybe not, it was confusing to mewith the dependencies and which one's first, and who's on second, etc..!) This was all supposed to fix the problem with the P2soledb.dll problem. Now I get a brand new error when I try to register the dll!: "dll registryserver cannot find entry port" (or something real close to that). I'm pulling what little hair I have left out! Any ideas?
Thank you, Risman

After searching around a bit more, I found what I think is the answer to the "entry port not found" problem. The Faq tab under Crystal Decisions: Crystal reports 3 Integrate Faq 768-3537. Problem is, I'm still getting Database errors and SQL Server Errors with my report. Maybe I did not download and apply the hotfixes properly. Can anybody explain this procedure more clearly than the Seagate Info Pages?
thank you, Risman

What database errors are you getting now?

Anyway, apply the monthly hitfixes for your CR version, check to make sure that both the version number and type (standard, professional, etc.), and then any specialized hotfixes.

If you're trying to register a DLL, I'd make sure that you unregister it first.

If you ever see an "...entry point not found...." type of message when trying to register a dll., it would be a safe bet that the file does not need to be registered.

Hence the "no entry point found.."

Not all files that are dll's need to be registered. Some are statically loaded. Like all of the crystal export drivers AND database drivers

The Crystal updates have no specific order and you should nknow if the update took, by checking the version of the P2SOLEDB.dll

Do you have the SQL client installed?

What is the exact error you are getting? This would be very helpful here as there could be 3 or 4.

I will take a stab though..have a look at this paper

Thanks for replying you guys!
After gathering all sorts of documents I could find from Crystal and related sites, (Tek-Tips too of course), I uninstalled Crystal, reinstalled Crystal, reapplied the Service Pack for 8.5, the monthly Hot fix, database drivers and dlls. Rebooted. Viola! I am not getting the database or Server errors! So I guess I'm fixed up. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, writing FAQs, and helping us all out.
