I am have problems trying to install my DLink Wireless USB adapter to my computer. Everytime I try to install the adapter, it states "There was a problem installing this hardware, Ann error occured during the installation of the device, Access is denied". I downloaded the update on DLink's website, but that doesn't work either. Is there any solution?
He is some thing to know about my PC that may help out.

-GigaByte GA-8IPE775-G Motherboard w/ built-in 10/100 ethernet port.
-Windows XP Pro. w/ Service Pack 2
-3.0 GHz Processor(Intel)
-512MB Ram
-120GB Hard Drive

Thank You In Advance.

Windows is Detecting the USB Adapter, just that when it trying to install the drivers, I get the error message.

Do you have access to another computer to try the device? It may be defective.

NuB, Graphics Genius, 80211 Bonehead, etc. ad nauseum...

I also have a DWL-122. Mine has previously worked attached to the Win98SE laptop it's currenly sticking out of. I've since had to reload the machine, and cannot get any protocol bindings to stick to save my @$$.

I can read signal strength from my Linksys (never less than 60%), but cannot connect to it (router admin login) or anything else for that matter.

Any clues for the clueless?
(Alms for an ex-leper?)

Hi. i have also have a D-Link DWL 122 Wiresless USB Adapter. i have had the problem you have. to fix it you need to shut your computer off and unplug your d-link. wait 10 seconds, plug it back in, and restart your computer. then turn on your computer and it should work. if it doesnt then try again. it sometimes takes me up to 10 tries but then it will work
the D in your task bar will be white with a red line moving up and down. if you see that when you have tried unplugging the d-link, dont try again right away. it might take a little bit. but if in 10-30 mn it doesnt connect then you should shut it off again and unplug it. just be patient.
