I recently purchased a DLINK DWL-520+ PCI card and also a wireless router. Since I have installed the PCI Card I cannot turn off my PC (it just restarts itself). I have to physically pull the power cable out to turn it off. I have tried the card in all 3 PCI slots but get the same result. When I take the card out of the PCI slots and shut it down - it shuts down normally. Please can somebody help.

Regards,, Karl

Sounds like Wake on Lan is enabled in the BIOS, and your wireless card is picking something up to Wake it

There isn't any option of wake on lan in the bios. Could it be somewhere else? its a compaq desktop.

Did the card have a thin cable that hooked onto the motherboard???

If so, this might be the Wake on Lan connector. The only other place that would have info is the Compaq or the D-Link website
