Distribution of Reports

Can anyone point me in the direction of an 'idiots guide' to distributing reports using Crystal Reports v8.5 Developer Edition please?
I would just like to know the different options that are available.

Thanks dgillz. I have done that as I used it in earlier versions of Crystal to make .exe files, but understand that this may not nessarily be supported in later versions.
Are you aware if this is true?
Are there any alternatives which would allow users to view reports?

There are a number of alternatives to view reports. Do you want to distribute the reports or just give users the ability to view them?

they just need to be able to view an up to date version (i.e. one which refreshes when they view it) and enter parameters if applicable.

One alternative is to use a 3rd party report viewer. See list at:

Another option is to create such a viewer yourself.

Another option is to use Crystal Enterprise (web server solution).

Thanks for the info. I do have Crystal Enterprise which is one option I am considering.

Do the files that Crystal Reports stores by default in:
C:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Viewers\ActiveXViewer
also provide a viewer that I can use?

Sorry to ask such a stupid question, but where can I download the report compiling and distribution expert? I have just obtained CR 8.5 and want to publish reports to my companies intranet. If anyone knows where to download this addon from, I would appreciate the pointer...
