distribution list not in alphabetical order after placing in the TO line

My dad uses AOL. He has several email distribution lists that he created. When he views the list in his AOL address book, he can easily sort the names in alphabetical order. But after he places the list in the TO or CC of an email, the list is no longer in alphabetical order...it gets messed up...I'm not sure how AOL arranges the email addresses.

Many times my dad wants to send an email to the members of his email distribution list, but he wants to exclude one or two names from the list. So it's hard for him to find the names to exclude because the email addresses are not in alphabetical order.

Again, the list is in alphabetical order in the address book--it only gets messed up after it's placed into an email.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Like any database, contact names are stored in their natural order, which is the order in which they were created.

thanks for writing chris.

is there any workaround to this, besides re-creating his whole address book in creation/alphabetical order? And then he would have to do that each time he adds a brand new name!

Move away from AOL and to something like Thunderbird or Outlook which are more flexible. The address book could be exported then imported.
