In Windows Server 2003 I have created a global distribution group with members. The group does not have a mailbox, but each member does. We want the group to show up on the address list, but it doesn’t. When a message goes to the distribution group we want that message to go to each member.

Distribution Group not on Address List

To my understanding if you don't have an email address associated with the distribution group then it will not show up in the global address book. If you assign an email to the distribution group it will not make a new mailbox just an alias that will send the email to everyone within that group.
