Distributing a desktop shortcut

Can some one tell how to send a desktop shortcut with an an sms package.

Run the repackage in SMS Installer and run Notepad.exe as the executable. Create the desktop shortcut on your machine, close Notepad, and complete the repackage. Look at the script sditor and remove any items from the newly created script that have nothing to do with your shortcut (cryptography settings, installing .tmp files, etc)

You should see one line that says, "Sreate shortcut from..." This is the line (plus all the referenced variables) that you need. You can save this new package as an exe and deploy it, or make a smaller package using only the lines from this one that you want.

Hope this helps - But running Notepad as your executable during a repackage is a good way to capture exactly what you're doing on your PC, because Notepad calls nothing and installs nothing that is captured during a repackage. Just remember to close it when you're done, or you won't be able to finish the repackage (Next button greyed out).
